MÖTE MED KOREOGRAF

In this workshop, we will explore some of the key choreographic concepts from Fernando Melos work by recreating selected scenes together in the studio.

This workshop will give participants both the experience of performing the material and a deeper insight into how Fernando Melo compose it. Participants will reconstruct scenes and explore movement concepts while also reflecting on the creative process behind them.

In addition, Melo will share his thoughts on creativity: how ideas can be cultivated, and why the work we do as artists matters. This will take place through a short lecture component that complements the physical work. The workshop is designed as a balance of active exploration and knowledge sharing. 

To make the most of our time together, we recommend that dancers arrive already warmed up and ready to begin.

Fernando Melo is a Brazilian-born choreographer and director based in Sweden, renowned for creating emotionally resonant, visually striking, and innovative works across dance, theatre, opera, and film. His choreography has been commissioned and presented internationally. Melo has collaborated with acclaimed companies worldwide, including Göteborgsoperans Danskompani (Sweden), Danish Dance Theater (Copenhagen), Aterballetto (Italy), Korean National Contemporary Dance Company (South Korea), Gibney Company (New York), Introdans (Arnhem), Skånes Dansteater (Sweden), Aspen Santa Fe Ballet (USA), Ballet Hispanico (USA).
