PINA BAUSCH REPERTORY LAB

Pina Bausch Repertory Lab are an invitation to explore the world of Pina Bausch's choreography under professional guidance of Scott Jennings.

The work of Scott Jennings stems from his interest in bridging the gap between dance and theatre. He draw inspiration from dance makers and theatre directors, as well as from visual artists and circus performers. Working with games, scenarios and improvisations, his sessions are guided predominantly through tasks, questions and reflections. Scott´s foundational aim is to expand the way we relate, interact, and understand ourselves as human beings.

At the second part of the workshop the participants work in a joint process on selected excerpts from Pina Bausch's work. The focus is on direct experience and experimentation without the pressure of a performance and without being graded. The focus is on individual experience and finding one's own approaches to the dance legacy.

Bausch Foundation is  a non-profit Organisation dedicated to the preservation and Sharing of the work of the choreographer Pina Bausch. The foundation’s task is also the collecting of extensive knowledge about the work in order to preserve it and make it accessible for future generations, as well as to initiate Creative exchange. As part of the foundation's purpose, Pina Bausch Foundation therefore supports selected Workshops to explore the work of Pina Bausch.

Scott Jennings  found a love for the arts at a young age. He began his training in dance and theatre at The BRIT School and then went onto study at London Contemporary Dance School, graduating in 2009. Scott has worked extensively as a performer with some of the world’s leading dance and theatre makers including Lloyd Newson, Dimitris Papaioannou, Robert Wilson and Maxine Doyle, to name a few. He spent six years as a member of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, performing Bausch’s eclectic repertoire worldwide. Alongside performing, Scott has also worked as a rehearsal director and stager for the Pina Bausch Foundation and is a regular teacher at schools, institutions and festivals throughout Europe.
